Chios Mastiha Growers Association introduced with great success the campaign «European PDO products: precious drops» in Japan. The campaign aimed to raise awareness among Japanese professionals and consumers of a high-quality product: Chios Mastiha, encouraging them to add this unique and authentic product to their daily habits by adding it to food, cosmetic and nutraceutical products!
The event took place on April 6th, 2017, at the Quartz Gallery, Tokushinkai Quarz Tower, in Tokyo. The speakers, Dr. Ilias Smyrnioudis, PhD, Deputy General Manager, Head of R&D at Chios Mastiha Growers Association and Dr. Ioannis Georgiadis MD, MSc, PhD Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism introduced the campaign «European PDO products: precious drops». They’ve promoted the unique PDO products: PDO Masticha Chiou (Mastiha crystals), PDO Mastichelaio Chiou (Mastiha oil) and PDO Tsikla Chiou (Mastiha gum) by sharing their knowledge about the history, the uses and the benefits of the products.
Approximately 90 guests from diverse sectors, such as nutraceutical sector, food sector, nutrition associations, opinion leaders, journalists/bloggers, retailers/wholesalers/importers, foodies, representatives of the HORECA industry have followed with great interest the event. They were fascinated to hear about the variety of applications and uses, as the beneficial properties of Chios Mastiha which may be defined as a superfood. Attendees were given information kits with interesting information, photographs, brochures as well as Chios Mastiha gifts.
The finger food buffet gave the opportunity to taste the exquisite combination of Japanese dishes enriched with Chios Mastiha while the speakers met with their guests and raised awareness on European PDO and PGI products.
